Mohammed Kettani is Senior Director at Arbah Capital, where he heads the Private Equity Department and the Financing Division. He is a CMA-registered person.

Mohammed brings over 20 years of experience in private equity, Islamic finance structuring and corporate finance advisory across the GCC, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining Arbah, he was Managing Director of Thuraya Consultants, a Bahrain-based corporate finance advisory firm, and spent nine years at Ibdar Bank as Executive Director and Head of Private Equity, overseeing origination, structuring, execution and portfolio management across aviation, shipping, infrastructure, energy, FMCG and financial services. During that period, he also served as CEO of Palma Ibdar Airlease and General Manager of Skaugen Gulf Petchem Carriers, two Ibdar Bank joint ventures, and sat on the boards of several portfolio companies.

His transaction record includes a USD 1.5 billion integrated water and power plant in Bahrain, Shariah-compliant aircraft leasing platforms in Africa and the UAE, and financing facilities structured under Ijarah, Diminishing Musharaka and Murabaha formats, including ECA-backed financing within Shariah-compliant structures. His aviation work was recognised by Airfinance Journal as Best Aircraft Leasing Transaction in Africa (2014) — the first Shariah-compliant aircraft lease in the region — and by Africa Aviation Magazine as Aircraft Finance Deal of the Year (2015).

Earlier in his career, Mohammed was a Manager in Ernst & Young's Islamic Financial Services Group in Bahrain, an Investment Officer at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (IsDB Group), and a Senior Analyst at ISS in the United States, advising institutional shareholders on M&A and capital structure matters.

He holds a Master of Science in Finance from George Washington University and a BBA from the University of Abidjan. He is a Certified Private Equity Specialist and has published in Islamic Finance News on governance and risk management in Shariah-compliant private equity. He is fluent in Arabic, French and English.
